He completed the Star of Bethlehem in 1890 as a commission for the corporation of Birmingham – specifically for the City’s new Museum and Art Gallery – and it could be regarded as the star piece in their huge collection of Pre-Raphaelite art, which includes paintings, drawings, prints and examples of decorative art and design.
